    Anthony Gallegos
    30 Jul 2015 | 1:31 pm
While the lightsaber seen in the Star Wars films is elegant, deadly, and possesses an almost superhero-like amount of power (c’mon it stops lightning!), games created in the series have always treated the weapons differently. How do you take a weapon so venerated in the films — a weapon that can cut through seemingly anything — and give them to a player that will try to use them in ways they’ve witnessed? Chances are you’ve played some of the following Star Wars games, but allow me to take you on a bit of a journey through various games stemmed from the franchise, analyzing…

If you didn’t know, there’s a special day on the calendar for everything. There is a day to celebrate waffles, a day to celebrate black cats, and a day to celebrate being someone’s pal. Friendship Day is this Sunday, August 2. It began as a greeting card holiday created by Hallmark, and though the act of sending cards never really caught on, the spirit of the day persisted. It’s an occasion to let your friends know how much they mean to you. Yes, you can and should do that on more than one day a year, but Friendship Day can be your reminder. If the holiday existed in…

  • Force Throwback: 1990s Star Wars Figures by Hasbro

    Tim Veekhoven
    29 Jul 2015 | 4:27 pm
Twenty years ago, Kenner (purchased by Hasbro in 1991) released their first wave of “modern” Star Wars action figures in 1995.  Most fans remember these figures for their exaggerated musculature and wrestler-like stance. There were nine characters in all from A New Hope — including the infamous Princess Leia figure — packaged in reddish cards with Vader’s helmet as the signature sign of the line. A rather small photo (compared to the vintage cards) was shown on the front of the card, while the back offered a biography of the character and a lineup of the…

While this franchise’s corporate synergy is very likely…

There were a ton of small bits and pieces to attach to the main body, and the best part is that they wonderfully covered up almost all of the seams. I only had to fill two small seams where the top met the bottom in the front. All that is left to assemble is the landing gear. Starting on decals and small details. I have been holding off on painting the cockpit so I can match the color to the decals because it is a unique shade of blue. I plan to paint the ship…
