  • 6 Things You Don’t Know About Star Wars #1

    Dan Brooks
    22 Jan 2015 | 1:26 pm
Marvel’s Star Wars #1 arrived last week, officially ushering in a new age of Star Wars comics. Set right after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, the issue features Han and Leia at their flirting-meets-bickering and Imperial-blasting best, Chewbacca as a sniper (!), and a thrilling cliffhanger ending. In short, it’s Star Wars to the core, it feels like a fresh start, and it’s fantastic. In celebration of Star Wars #1’s release, StarWars.com spoke with the landmark comic’s creators, writer Jason Aaron and artist John Cassaday, for some…

After abandoning their base on Dantooine, the Rebel Alliance established a new HQ in the ruins of the eerie Massassi Temples on Yavin 4. The Great Temple housed several levels of Alliance activity, including a hangar for the starfighters and a majestic audience chamber. After finally procuring the Death Star plans from Princess Leia Organa, General Dodonna spearheaded a search for a tactical weakness in the battle station’s construction. When the Death Star approached Yavin 4, a valiant attack with little chance of victory was launched. However, a new hope was given to the galaxy when…

    29 Dec 2014 | 2:07 pm
Happy New Year! The biggest The Force Awakens news of December was the announcement by Entertainment Weekly of several character names using the style of vintage trading cards: Daisy Ridley’s Rey, John Boyega’s Finn, Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, soccer ball droid’s BB-8, and whoever the heck’s Kylo Ren. Also confirmed is that this “Kylo Ren” is a male, and that the remaining ships and characters we saw are indeed “stormtroopers,” the Millennium Falcon, and so forth. Conspicuously not confirmed is Rey’s surname and parentage (is she a…
